From Yoganomes — A Note on Love

This time of year, it’s easy to start comparing — the size of the bunch of roses we receive, how many presents are wrapped for us, or how many sweet words fill a card. There’s a quiet competition that creeps in: whose love is bigger, better, more dazzling?

But love, in my opinion, can’t be measured by guest lists or gifts. Love is measurable in the everyday — in showing up, in small kindnesses, in the goodnight kisses and the support that comes with no hesitation or expectation.

And love isn’t just for romantic partners. It’s for everyone who lifts you higher — your family, your friends, your pets, the life you’re creating, and the self you’re becoming. It’s in the respect you have for what you’ve built, and what you continue to nurture.

I don’t often share personal words here, but this felt like the right moment.

These are a few lines I wrote as a reminder to myself:

“The joy you bring me is undeniable. I am me — comfortable and constant in me, elevating and evolving in me, messy & weird in me, calm & peaceful in me and I see how that makes you sparkle. To me, that is love. And that means the world.”

Whether you’re spending this weekend with someone you love, or simply with yourself (cherish you time!!), may it be filled with presence, softness, and self-kindness.

With love,

A Little Story (From the Middle of a Prague Street!)

Hey lovely yogis,

Here’s a little story for you…

This isn’t a planned email or one I’ve spent ages perfecting (which, let’s be honest, I usually do). This is a straight-from-the-heart, “I have to share this with you right now” kind of message. I’m literally standing in the middle of a street in Prague as I write this — evidence photo attached, just to make you smile!

If you’ve ever been to one of my classes, events, or retreats, you’ll know I’m always talking about balance. Life is this wild mix of family, romance, work, health, fitness, friends, finances, quiet time… and we simply can’t do it all, all the time. Plans get derailed (by Tuesday, anyone?), and then that sneaky guilt creeps in. But it’s OK! We adapt. We flex. We find the beauty and inspiration in each day, and we use all the little tools we have to make the best of it.

So, here’s why I’m writing to you today. There’s this old theory I love: if you’re at a crossroads or unsure about a decision, ask the world for a sign — a really specific one. Like, “Show me someone in blue lipstick this week if I’m on the right track.” The more specific, the better.

Well, on Monday I was feeling super confused about something important. I made a decision in my head, and then (yes, out loud!) I asked the universe for a ladybird to land on me in the next week if it was the right choice. And guess what? Today, it happened. A little ladybird, right on me, right here in Prague. I snapped a photo for you.

So, I wanted to share this little tool with you. Next time you’re not sure which way to go, try it — ask for a clear, specific sign. See what happens. And if you get your sign, or even if you just want to share your story, hit reply and tell me! I’d love to hear.

Sending you so much love and wishing you a gorgeous day, wherever you are.

Big hugs & love, Nomes

P.S. Here’s the photo — proof that sometimes the universe is listening (and has a sense of humour)!

7 key elements that make a

yoga safari experience so transformative

A yoga safari retreat offers a distinctive blend of adventure, wellness, and nature immersion:

1. Movement in Harmony with Nature

Daily yoga sessions outdoors leverage the "green exercise effect," combining breathwork and meditation with Zambia’s natural rhythms. Practicing amidst wilderness deepens the connection to Earth’s energy while reducing stress.

2. Wildlife Encounters as Meditation

Guided game drives and walking safaris in South Luangwa National Park foster mindfulness. Observing elephants, giraffes, and big cats in their habitat cultivates presence and awe, aligning with yogic principles of grounding.

3. Eco-Conscious Luxury

Stays at sustainable lodges prioritise comfort and environmental harmony. Riverside views, nourishing meals, and serene spaces lower blood pressure and enhance creativity, blending indulgence with mindful living.

4. Digital Detox for Nervous System Reset

Unplugging from technology for 72+ hours reduces stress markers by 40%. Herbal tea rituals, stargazing, and screen-free days support cognitive restoration, replacing digital noise with natural calm.

5. Rediscovering Daily Joy

The retreat focuses on reconnecting with life’s simple pleasures—sunrise meditations, wildlife marvels, and communal meals. New experiences trigger dopamine release, reigniting appreciation for everyday beauty.

6. Elemental Guidance for Balance

Daily practices rooted in earth, air, water, and fire elements promote resilience. Grounding rituals, creative air-inspired flows, fiery energy activation, and fluid water sequences foster emotional and physical equilibrium.

7. Long-Term Resilience Through Nature

Immersive activities like bush walks and stargazing restore vitality. Participants leave equipped with breathwork and mindfulness tools to maintain balance in daily life, extending the retreat’s benefits beyond the trip.

By merging safari adventures with yoga, this retreat offers a holistic path to restoring inner harmony through nature’s healing power.

Reconnecting with joy

When we reconnect with our joy, the things that steal our peace and make us steal peace from others, melt away.

From surrender comes freedom

Surrender is a thing of strength, not weakness.

Surrender is the only answer, it’s the only thing that will free you.

Running to the mountains won’t free you.

Pause. Catch a breath. Surrender to this very moment.

Be You

It all begins with an idea.

Bring to mind the most actualised version of yourself, allowing that version of you to cheer you on, in this very moment. Allow them to meet you with pride and unconditional support. Allow them to remind you that you are worthy and you are deserving to be you and to be celebrated for just that.

Notice how it feels to be seen in this way.

To be understood and appreciated in all of your beauty.

Take a moment to smile and celebrate you.
